SirPaul Cheeks will be playing college football next season.

Cheeks announced his commitment to West Virginia on Tuesday. Not only does he have a unique first and last name, he boasts “Jesus in cleats” as a nickname.

Out of Richmond (Virginia) Varina High School, Cheeks is currently listed as measuring 5-9 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he is rated 3-stars, the No. 24 player in the state of Virginia, No. 54 running back and No. 869 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

Cheeks picked up 18 scholarship offers during his recruitment. He had interest from all Power 4 conferences, as his offers included Kentucky, Minnesota, Pitt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

With Cheeks on board, West Virginia has 25 commitments in a class that ranks No. 43 nationally on the Composite. While Cheeks’ name may get some laughs, the talent is no joke.
