Anthony Richardson takes over for Florida, looks like a Heisman candidate against LSU

Florida needed a boost in the second half at LSU on Saturday afternoon. It then got a big one in the form of redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Richardson.

After Emory Jones had struggled for most of the day, the Gators fully turned to Richardson to lead their offense. And he wasted no time getting them right back into the game, as he led a trio of touchdown drives in the third quarter.

Richardson scored on a 5-yard TD run with 11 minutes, 1 second to go in the third quarter, then also ran in the 2-point conversion. He threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Justin Shorter with 7:59 remaining in the quarter, and he tied the game at 35 on an 11-yard TD pass to Dameon Pierce with 3:45 left in the third.
