Anthony Richardson takes over for Florida, looks like a Heisman candidate against LSU
By Jake Rill

Florida needed a boost in the second half at LSU on Saturday afternoon. It then got a big one in the form of redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Richardson.
After Emory Jones had struggled for most of the day, the Gators fully turned to Richardson to lead their offense. And he wasted no time getting them right back into the game, as he led a trio of touchdown drives in the third quarter.
Richardson scored on a 5-yard TD run with 11 minutes, 1 second to go in the third quarter, then also ran in the 2-point conversion. He threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Justin Shorter with 7:59 remaining in the quarter, and he tied the game at 35 on an 11-yard TD pass to Dameon Pierce with 3:45 left in the third.
Social media was impressed by Richardson’s immediate impact. Here’s some of the reaction from Twitter:
Huh? Anthony Richardson is good? Didn’t know that.

Impossible not to feel like you’re witnessing a permanent QB change for the Gators, with Anthony Richardson surpassing Emory Jones for good.
But remember: Dan Mullen is unpredictable.

If Dan Mullen does not make Anthony Richardson the starting quarterback for Florida from here on out, there is something wrong.
Job won, job done.

Anthony Richardson has a little bit of young Dak in him. Surprised Mullen didn’t turn to him sooner this season.
