Arkansas fans just want the 2025 season to be over. Saturday’s loss to LSU was the Razorbacks’ 8th straight and moved them to 0-6 in SEC play.

The big question, though, is who AD Hunter Yurachek will turn to as the next head coach of the program. According to one Arkansas insider, it won’t be Ed Orgeron, despite reports suggesting that the former USC and LSU head coach had been “in contact” with the university.

“Arkansas has zero interest in Ed Orgeron as HC. Not sure where that started and why I keep getting asked about it,” 247Sports’ Trey Biddy said in a post on X on Sunday afternoon.

Per Biddy, James Franklin appears to be out as well, even after Arkansas having “early contact” with the former Penn State head coach.

“He reached out to (people) about inner workings at Arkansas, but he also will not be the Arkansas head coach,” Biddy said.

With two potential names out of the running, the search continues for who will be on the sidelines for Arkansas in 2026 and beyond. Under Sam Pittman, it went 32-34, including a 2-3 start in 2025.

While Pittman breathed some life into the Razorbacks program after the disastrous tenure of Chad Morris, it wasn’t enough to get it among the SEC elite. Yurachek is hoping his next hire can do just that.
