New Arkansas coach Ryan Silverfield earned a big transfer portal pickup over the weekend, as former Ohio State defensive lineman Trajen Odom committed to the Razorbacks.
Odom appeared in two games for the Buckeyes in 2025, playing against Grambling State and Minnesota before taking a redshirt year. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.
A 4-star recruit according to 247 Sports Composite in the 2025 class, Odom chose Ohio State over offers from numerous SEC programs.
The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Odom is Arkansas’ 34th transfer addition since the portal’s two-week window, which closed Friday at midnight, opened on Jan. 2. Odom is also the third defensive lineman in the 2026 portal class, joining former Virginia defensive lineman Hunter Osborne and former Kentucky edge rusher Steven Soles.
Silverfield takes over an Arkansas program that struggled to a 2-10 record and fired coach Sam Pittman at midseason. The Razorbacks, who also went 0-8 in SEC play in 2025, hired Silverfield after a six-year career at Memphis, where he went 50-25 overall between 2020-25.
Arkansas is set to begin the 2026 season at home Sept. 5 against North Alabama and will hit the road Sept. 12 at Utah before beginning SEC play Sept. 19 at home against Georgia.
