Arkansas football and head coach Sam Pittman added a commitment from Caleb Gordon, a 3-star linebacker out of North Carolina, on Tuesday. Gordon, who is the Arkansas’s 3rd commitment across the past week, represents the Razorbacks’ 17th pledge of the 2026 cycle to date.
Gordon announced his commitment just a few days after taking an official visit to Fayetteville on May 30. Here’s his social media post officially announcing his decision.
There’s no dancing around it – Gordon is slightly undersized for an SEC linebacker. He stands at 6-foot, 215 pounds, so he’ll be a developmental player for the Razorbacks in the early going as he bulks up and learns the ins and outs of college ball. On the positive side, Gordon is quick and shows a strong ability to track the ball from his tape at Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, North Carolina – just west of Charlotte.
Gordon is considered to be the No. 1007 prospect in the Class of 2026, as well as the No. 134 LB and No. 56 player out of the Tar Heel State.
Arkansas did not yet have a LB committed to its 2026 class, but 4-star prospect Colton Yarbrough – the 2nd highest rated prospect on Arkansas’ commitment list – was picked up in August 2024 as a potential force off the edge.
