Arkansas reveals uniform combo for Saturday’s game at Tennessee
Arkansas has a lot riding on Saturday’s Week 7 showdown at No. 12 Tennessee, so it definitely wants to be dressed nicely for the occasion.
This particular occasion will be the rebirth of Bobby Petrino, who is now the interim head coach of the Razorbacks in the aftermath of the firing of head coach Sam Pittman. Arkansas fired Pittman 2 weeks ago after its Week 5 home blowout loss to Notre Dame, and the next day it named Petrino the interim head coach. The same Petrino who was the Hogs’ offensive coordinator last season and to start this season, and the same Petrino who was Arkansas’s head coach from 2008-11.
Back to Saturday’s attire, with the Razorbacks trying to break a 3-game losing streak after a 2-0 start. It won’t be easy against the high-octane Volunteers, who are 4-1 and led by star quarterback Joey Aguilar. But with Petrino back as its leader, Arkansas will take its shot at Neyland Stadium in the 4:15 ET kickoff on SEC Network. And it’ll do it while wearing the traditional road white jerseys.
There is a twist up top though. The question of whether the Hogs would sport red or white helmets was answered with the uniform reveal, and it’ll be red helmets for Arkansas in Week 7 as it tries to pull off the upset.
Here is the full uniform and helmet combo that was revealed a few hours before kickoff:
