Arkansas State secured a big win over the weekend as the Red Wolves traveled to Kansas State and upset the Wildcats 35-31 in a nationally televised game.

Unfortunately, Arkansas State won’t be able to carry over the momentum from that victory into this weekend as the team announced this weekend’s game against Central Arkansas has been postponed until Oct. 10.

According to Arkansas State, which was already out multiple players for the Kansas State game, the team would not have been able to field a two-deep depth chart for Central Arkansas. Arkansas State noted there’s a difference between having enough players to play and having enough depth at certain position groups heading into a game.

“We are obviously disappointed for the student-athletes participating from both schools, as well as both coaching staffs and fan bases,” said A-State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir in a statement. “We are excited that we’ve rescheduled this game to be played at Centennial Bank Stadium on Oct. 10.

“While no one wanted this outcome, the health and safety of our student-athletes will always come first. We will remain diligent in our health and safety protocols, and we look forward to resuming our 2020 schedule next week against Tulsa.”

Here is the release from Arkansas State:
