Despite both of these programs being extremely successful throughout the years, the matchup in South Bend in 2027 will be the first ever matchup between the two schools. Auburn has been ramping up its non-conference season the past couple of years, as the Tigers will be doing a series with Miami in 2029 and 2030.
In addition to the Notre Dame game, Auburn‘s 2027 nonconference schedule includes Middle Tennessee (Sept. 11) and Missouri State (Sept. 18) The 2028 slate includes North Alabama (Sept. 9)
