Auburn announces ‘power stripe out’ for Florida game

The Auburn Tigers are getting ready for their first SEC game of the 2026 season this Saturday when they will welcome the Florida Gators to town for a 7 p.m. kickoff under the lights at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
This will be the first time since the 2019 season that these 2 traditional SEC rivals meet up on the gridiron, and the first time since 2011 that the Gators have made the trip to Jordan-Hare.
Saturday night will be the first major in-conference test for both first-year head coaches Jon Sumrall and Alex Golesh, and the latter will be looking to get all the support he can from the home crowd. To further boost fan excitement, Auburn officially announced on Monday that they will be doing a “power stripe out” inside Jordan-Hare for the pivotal matchup against Florida.

According to the official Auburn football X account, fans will be encouraged to color-coordinate their attire to match the rest of their section in order to imitate the iconic blue, white, and orange power stripe that runs down the middle of the team’s helmets.
This will be the fourth time in as many seasons that the Tigers have done a power stripe out for a crucial SEC home game, with the previous 3 occurrences all resulting in close losses.
The hope for Golesh and his staff is that the fourth time will be the charm, and the power stripe-out will help guide the Tigers to a 3-0 start heading into the meat of their in-conference schedule.
