Auburn picked up a huge win against Georgia in Week 7, as the Tigers went to Athens and knocked off the No. 1-ranked Bulldogs, 27-24. The win was the statement that Alex Golesh had been looking for in his first year as the coach, and it shows the fanbase that they are headed in the right direction.

Up next for the Tigers is a huge home game against LSU in what figures to be as electric an environment as there has been at an Auburn home game in quite some time. On Friday, the Tigers announced their captains for the game.

Quarterback Byrum Brown is one of the captains, and he delivered a huge performance in the win against the Bulldogs. He finished with 150 passing yards and one touchdown, while adding another 115 rushing yards and another score.

Chas Nimrod is another captain in this game, and he had six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Elijah Melendez is the leader of the defense, leading the Tigers in tackles (52) and sacks (4). He will be even more important, as second-leading tackler Xavier Atkins was dismissed from the program this week.

Getting that win against Georgia was a great first step, but a win against LSU would set the Tigers up for a potential Playoff run.
