Auburn has lost a few players to the transfer portal already this offseason, but on Thursday, the Tigers got some good news.
Just because a player enters his name in the portal doesn’t mean he has to leave, and it appears an Auburn defender has had a change of heart.
As you can see below, Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported that DB Eric Reed Jr., a 4-star member of Auburn’s 2020 recruiting class, has withdrawn his name from the portal:
Auburn redshirt freshman defensive back Eric Reed has withdrawn his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal after initially entering earlier this week, per On3's @mzenitz.

After appearing in 1 game in 2020, Reed also only appeared in 1 game in 2021. He has yet to record any stats at Auburn.
Will he have a bigger role in 2022 and beyond? We’ll see what’s next for Reed now that he’s reportedly out of the portal.
