Auburn’s 2027 recruiting class just got better.
The Tigers have earned a commitment from 4-star pass rusher MJ Evans. Per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, he chose Auburn over offers from programs such as Tennessee, Miami and South Carolina.

Evans is a major addition for Auburn in the class of 2027. He’s the No. 356 overall player and the No. 38 defensive lineman in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also regarded as the No. 17 player from the state of Alabama.
Evans attends Spain Park High School in Birmingham. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds.
Evans took an official visit to Auburn back in early June. He also made trips to multiple other top programs before deciding to commit to Auburn. His initial offer from the Tigers came back in October of 2025.
Auburn appears to be in the midst of building an elite recruiting class. The Tigers’ 2027 class currently ranks No. 9 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Auburn has 25 commits so far and could add more talented prospects before the Early Signing Period begins in December.
