QB T.J. Finley has arrived at Auburn for a change of scenery and fresh start from LSU.

Finley last season for LSU made 5 starts, and passed for 941 yards with 5 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Now he’s at Auburn where he’s getting reps with the second team behind Bo Nix and ahead of Bowling Green transfer Grant Loy and freshman Dematrius Davis.

“Him coming in was a great change-up,” offensive lineman Brandon Council, according to Auburn Undercover. “He works well with the offense. He picked up everything real quick. He can move and he can throw. He’s a great asset for this team.”

Finley has already shown why he received offers from the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas and Penn State.

“(Finley) is making great throws, great reads, learning the offense coming from LSU,” wide receiver Shedrick Jackson said. “He’s a guy I’ve had a chance to get a couple reps with him, too, so I like the way he’s playing.”

Even though he’s adjusting to new surroundings, Finley is on the same playing field as his teammates since everyone is learning a new offense under Bryan Harsin and Mike Bobo.

“You’ve got to be right, and you’ve got to get the guys lined up properly,” Harsin said. “You’ve got to be able to handle all the different things that we’re doing on that side of the ball with the cadence and checks we get. Bo’s doing a better job of that, and Finley is really getting to understand the details, as well.”
