Auburn reportedly makes decision on starting quarterback for Arkansas game

The Auburn Tigers will be looking to snap their current 4-game losing skid and also pick up their first SEC win of the season this Saturday when they hit the road to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Head coach Hugh Freeze also appears to have decided on who he will be rolling with under center against the Hogs as well, with On3’s Pete Nakos reporting that the third-year head coach for the Tigers will be sticking with junior gunslinger Jackson Dart.
This comes after Freeze told reporters that he was “re-evaluating” the quarterback situation on his team, and he was splitting first-team reps between Arnold and senior backup Ashton Daniels.
Auburn’s recent skid and lackluster offensive production necessitated Freeze taking a look at other options under center to try and kick-start his dormant offense, but it looks like the head ball coach still believes that Arnold is the best bet at quarterback moving forward.
Arnold, who transferred into Auburn this past offseason after spending the previous 2 years with Oklahoma, has been the starter for Freeze and the Tigers’ offense all season, putting up 1,190 passing yards and 5 passing touchdowns to go along with 7 rushing touchdowns over his first 7 starts of the year.
His starting job may be safe for now, but that could change if the Tigers come out sputtering against the Razorbacks on Saturday.
