The Auburn Tigers will be enduring several defections when the transfer portal opens Friday, and the Tigers also learned Thursday that it will be without a standout wide receiver for 2026 due to the NFL.

Junior Eric Singleton Jr. announced on social media that he plans to forego his final season on the Plains to make himself eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft. Singleton’s departure marks the sixth Auburn receiver expected to leave in the offseason – as he joins portal-bound Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, Perry Thompson, Horatio Fields, Sam Turner and Cam’Ron King.

Here’s Singleton’s announcement:

Singleton spent a single season at Auburn after transferring from Georgia Tech prior to the 2025 season. He recorded 58 catches for 534 yards and three touchdowns for the 5-7 Tigers and also had 14 carries for 61 yards.

Singleton’s collegiate career draws to a close with 162 receptions for 2,002 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

The many departures from the Auburn receivers room leaves the Tigers with just one receiver that caught a pass last season – freshman Bryce Cain, who notched four receptions for 25 yards. Redshirt freshmen Duke Smith and Erick Smith are set to return along with 2026 signees DeShawn Spencer, Brian Williams and Brady Marchese.

In all, 28 players have announced their decision to transfer from Auburn. New coach Alex Golesh takes over the Tigers program following the midseason firing of Hugh Freeze.
