Barion Brown is officially in the scorebook for LSU.
The former Kentucky receiver is off to a good start in his LSU career, but he didn’t find the end zone in any of his previous 3 games with the Tigers. That changed on Saturday night against Southeast Louisiana.
Garrett Nussmeier connected with Brown for a 17-yard touchdown to give the Tigers a 28-0 lead over their FCS opposition. Here’s a look at Brown’s first touchdown with the Tigers:
Entering this game, Brown had caught 15 passes for 145 yards. Over half of that production came in one contest against Louisiana Tech when Brown caught 8 passes for 94 yards. He also had a 15-yard rush in that win over the Bulldogs.
Brown is a key piece in LSU’s offense moving forward, so the Tigers will be hoping he can connect with Nussmeier in the end zone more frequently. Entering this game, Brown was second on the team in both receptions and receiving yards only to Aaron Anderson.
With a win over Southeast Louisiana on Saturday, LSU would move to 4-0 on the season. The Tigers are set to go on the road to Ole Miss in Week 5.
