Former Arkansas running back Maleek Barkley announces transfer destination

Maleek Barkley is going to continue his career a long way from Fayetteville.

The former Arkansas running back announced on Friday that he’s heading to Montana State. Barkley, who redshirted in his first and only season in Fayetteville, shared his decision to transfer a week ago.

Barkley was moved from running back to receiver in February. The former Lake Travis (Tex.) skill player was rated as the No. 91 receiver and the No. 615 player overall in the 2017 class.

He was the fifth Arkansas scholarship player to transfer since the conclusion of spring practice.
