This punt had a huge impact on the game, as the Wisconsin defense forced a 3-and-out against the Fighting Irish, and the Badgers got the ball back in good field position. Just two plays later, Colton Joseph connected with Malachi Coleman for a 28-yard touchdown to tie the game at 10.
Special teams played a role in a lot of college football games this weekend, and in a lot of instances, it was a mistake. For the Badgers, it was the opposite, and it helped them hang around against one of the best teams in the country.
Wisconsin is looking for a big year in coach Luke Fickell’s fourth year, and being able to compete against one of the best teams in the country in Notre Dame will instill a lot of confidence in his team.
