Bo Nix takes to selling T-shirts around ‘This is the year’ joke: ‘Let’s redeem the meme’

Bo Nix is well aware of the ongoing joke that routinely makes its way around the Internet.
“This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He’s focused. He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman.”
Now he’s selling T-shirts around the joke, and donating the proceeds through a partnership with Breaking T to go to Let’s Deal with ALS, a GoFundMe account to support a teammate’s father, Luke Deal. The other is to Mercy Deliverance Ministries, which is addressing food insecurity and food deserts in Alabama.
On Instagram, he explained the news:
“I wanted to take a couple minutes and address a very serious rumor: I am focused. And I am having fun. This phrase has taken on a life of its own, and y’all are having fun with it. That’s great!
For me, this year is about continuing to improve on the field every day and live out my faith off of it. So I figured we’d redeem the meme. From now until the Georgia game, I’ve partnered with Breaking T to offer the “Focused. Having Fun.” t-shirt. Every dollar I make from this shirt is going to go two places.
The first place I’m donating is the Let’s Deal with ALS gofundme Nick Brahms started to help our teammate, Luke Deal. Luke’s a great player and a better dude. His dad has ALS, and we’re trying to help make the Deals’ home more accessible. Because the Auburn Family sticks together, I know you’ll want to help our brother out.
The second place I’m donating is to Mercy Deliverance Ministries. MDM is tackling food insecurity by bringing healthy food to people who live in food deserts here in Alabama. Food insecurity can lead to health problems and it contributes to cycles of generational poverty.
