Oklahoma football legends Bob Stoops and Sam Bradford are on a 12-person committee tasked with finding OU’s next athletic director.

The University announced the committee on Monday afternoon, which will be chaired by former AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson. University of Oklahoma president Joseph Harroz previously announced that Stephenson will lead the search to find OU’s next athletic director.

Stoops and Bradford are the biggest names on the committee, but it also includes former Oklahoma women’s basketball head coach Sherri Coale and former softball All-American Kinzie Hansen, among other university personnel.

Here’s the full list:

OU’s eventual successor will replace Joe Castiglione, who announced his pending retirement earlier this summer. Castiglione has served as Oklahoma’s athletic director since 1998 and has presided over one of the most successful periods of Oklahoma athletics in program history.

Stoops is the winningest head coach in Oklahoma football history. He led the Sooners to the 2000 BCS National Championship and left Norman with 191 career victories as OU’s head coach. Bradford, who won the 2008 Heisman Trophy, was a big part of Stoops’ success for multiple seasons. He went to to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

There is no public timetable for a hire to be made, although Castiglione is expected to step down toward the end of the 2025-26 academic year.
