Boo Corrigan explained on Tuesday night on the latest College Football Playoff selection show that the committee looks at teams’ entire body of work.

In the case of LSU, it’s 2 losses. ESPN host Rece Davis asked Corrigan, the NC State athletics director, how that is sorted out. Davis raised LSU in the context of Oregon, since both teams lost their season opener, but “are playing their best ball” of the season now.

“As you know, conference championships, head-to-head competition are all part of it,” he said. “They’ve got that early-season loss to Florida State, the other loss to (Tennessee), they’ve come back strong since then. What an incredible game on Saturday night down at LSU. They’re able to win, go for 2 and get that win and as we look at it, we’ll continue to evaluate.”

Davis replied, “You guys have set the stage for some really compelling discussion on selection day, depending on what happens between now and then.”
