Brad Davis is excited to coach LSU’s bowl game as the interim coach, and called it a personal milestone moment.

Davis said he’s prepared for this for a long time, as the Tigers will play Kansas State in the Texas Bowl.

Davis, who played offensive line at Oklahoma, was the Tigers’ offensive line coach under Ed Orgeron.

“I’ve been preparing for this my whole life. I’m from North Baton Rouge,” he said. “I’m so proud to represent the people that I grew up with. I’m awfully proud to coach at LSU.”

Davis also shared his early impressions of new coach Brian Kelly, and they’re positive.

“We’ve had a chance to meet. I hold him in high regard. He’s a winner. I have a great impression of him. I have high expectations and I think he’s going to do phenomenal here.”
