Brett Key and Georgia Tech will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing Week 1 loss to Colorado when they host the Tennessee Volunteers. On Tuesday, Heupel gave Georgia Tech a compliment when he talked about how physical the Yellow Jackets are as a team.
Key was asked about those comments from Heupel, and he made a joke at the expense of his own team, insisting that Heupel was just being nice.
“Did he say that before or after he watched the last game?” Key asked in response to the reporter. “Yeah, Josh is being nice then.”
The loss to Colorado was a frustrating one for Key and his team, as they were physically beaten up in a few areas. The Yellow Jackets are a team that is known for running the ball. However, against the Buffaloes, they were able to rush the ball only 30 times for 51 yards.
That press conference showed that Key is still not over the loss to Colorado, and it is safe to assume that the players have been challenged throughout the week. Look for Georgia Tech to come out with a different level of intensity against the Volunteers.
