The crew of College GameDay traveled to Norman, Oklahoma, on Friday night for the first-round College Football Playoff matchup between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oklahoma Sooners, and they brought out a former Sooners legend as their special guest picker.
Brian Bosworth, better known as “The Boz” by Oklahoma faithful, was chosen to appear for his Alma Mater’s first on-campus CFP game, and he was very fired up when making his pick shortly before kickoff.
Bosworth asked his fellow GameDay hosts if he wanted them to fire up the crowd by leading the iconic Boomer Sooner chant, and proceeded to energize a sold-out Gaylord-Memorial Stadium just like he did during his playing days 40 years ago.
An all-time Sooner legend, Bosworth played linebacker at Oklahoma from 1984-1986, where he was a 2-time first-team All-American, 2-time Butkus Award winner, and leader of the Sooners’ 1985 National Championship winning squad.
The College Football Hall of Fame inductee has remained a staunch supporter of the Oklahoma program since his playing days ended, frequently being spotted at Sooners’ games over the years.
It’s clear from his electric pick that The Boz would love to suit up for his Alma Mater one more time against the Tide, and he’ll be one of many Oklahoma legends in attendance cheering on the Sooners in their biggest home game in recent memory.
