Brian Kelly had a lot to say after a crazy game against Ole Miss ended in LSU’s 2nd loss of the season. The Tigers and Rebels combined for a whopping 1,343 yards of offense, with the Rebels coming away with a 55-49 win.
After the game, Kelly called the loss “gut-wrenching.”

Kelly also addressed the defense, lamenting the amount of breakdowns that happened with the unit.
โWe were in position and we didnโt make the play,” Kelly explained.

This was a shockingly-bad performance by the LSU defense. The Tigers allowed the Rebels to rack up over 300 yards on the ground after the team was only able to muster 56 against Alabama.
The Tigers’ offense was insane in it’s own right, collecting 637 total yards of offense. Typically, this insane yardage total would be more than enough to win, but it wasn’t enough on Saturday.
“Ole Miss was better,” Kelly admitted.

Finally, Kelly acknowledged that the Tigers have a tough stretch ahead and will have to handle some adversity.
Brian Kelly has mentioned multiple times these players have pride and understand thatโs not the standard: โWe have adversity in front of us and weโll see how the guys handle it.โ#LSU

The disappointing loss puts the Tigers at 3-2 with a tough road game at Mizzou next on the docket.
