Brian Kelly reveals which way he’s leaning in LSU-Ole Miss top-10 showdown

Lane Kiffin’s much-anticipated return to Oxford is set for Saturday night as LSU takes on host Ole Miss. LSU’s former coach is chiming in with his expectations for the SEC showdown.
Brian Kelly was fired by LSU during last season after being with the program since 2022. Now Kelly is a CBS Sports analyst and he’s sharing his thoughts on the most intriguing matchup this weekend in college football.
The 2-time AP College Football Coach of the Year is siding with Ole Miss because he expects Vaught-Hemingway Stadium to be a rabid environment.
“The home team has won this matchup in the last 4 years…We already know what the outcome is,” Kelly said. “This is going to be a close game. I’m going to lean towards the home team here. When you go on the road in the SEC, the home crowd makes a difference.”
Ole Miss hasn’t lost a home game since falling to Kentucky 20-17 on Sept. 28, 2024. Meanwhile, LSU hasn’t won a road game against a top-10 ranked team since defeating No. 6 Florida 37-34 in the Swamp on Dec. 12, 2020. However, that was during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a limited crowd of 16,610.
LSU at Ole Miss is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff (ABC). He’s obviously keeping his rooting interest private, but regardless you can be certain Kelly will be locked in on the action.
