Brian Kelly calls Alabama ‘under the radar team’ after pulling away from Kentucky in second half

Brian Kelly had an eye on Alabama and its Week 2 game against Kentucky. The Wildcats took a 17-13 lead into the locker room, but didn’t score again as the Crimson Tide posted 32 second-half points to pull away for a 45-17 win in Lexington.
Despite throwing two interceptions and fumbling the ball away in the first half, Keelon Russell finished with 188 yards passing and a touchdown. The Tide held the Wildcats to just 63 yards rushing on 32 carries and a 1-of-14 mark on third down. They also recorded two takeaways in the second half, one leading to a touchdown.
Kelly liked what he saw from Alabama during its second-half surge.
“(They’re) kind of under the radar, in a sense, and they played great in the second half,” Kelly said on Tuesday’s “Inside College Football” on CBS Sports Network. “Physicality wore out in that game. Although Kentucky has some energy, and I certainly think Will Stein’s going to do a great job there, Alabama kind of showed me something with their physicality on both sides of the ball.”
After moving to 1-0 in SEC play, the Tide will host Florida State in Week 3. They’ll return to conference action in Week 4 as South Carolina comes to town.
