Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for a career-high 204 yards on 26 carries, which is the third most in the College Football Playoff era as he led Alabama to a punishing 27-6 victory over Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl on Friday.

After the game, Robinson spoke with ESPN’s Molly McGrath about the performance, which was also an Alabama record for rushing yards in a bowl game. Robinson had the huge game in his fifth season at Alabama, as he waited behind several other running backs throughout his career.

“After all that time, just stayed the course, just trusted the process,” he said. “I just knew it was going to work out for me in my favor. I just kept working, when the opportunity presented itself, I was ready for it.”

Robinson said it was a great feeling having his teammates trust him to do the job.

“I’ll do anything for this ‘A’ on my chest, I’m glad I got to show the world how much this university means to me,” he said. “It’s like a dream come true. I waited all this time for this opportunity. When the time came, I was ready for it, and we came out here and we did what we had to do.”
