In the aftermath of one of the toughest losses in NCAA Tournament history, Auburn’s Bruce Pearl has proven he can handle poor officiating better than most. If the referees would have accurately called the closing seconds of the Auburn-Virginia Final Four game, it would have been the Tigers playing Monday night for the title.

During a Monday appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Pearl was asked to share his thoughts on the missed double dribble call from the game. For what it’s worth, Patrick admitted he missed that moment, as did Pearl in real time.

“I didn’t see it, either,” Pearl said in response. “Bryce Brown was pressuring and contain the ball and we wanted to try and get a foul because we had two to give. When I saw the disruption in the play, I assumed Bryce must have deflected it, but obviously, Kyle Guy just lost it, picked it up, dribbled it again.”

Pearl would go on to say he didn’t agree with the foul call against Auburn on Guy’s corner three but he realizes that’s part of the game.

You can check out Pearl’s entire interview on “The Dan Patrick Show” below. The show can also be viewed daily from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET on AT&T AUDIENCE Network which can be found on DIRECTV Ch. 239.
