Auburn football coach Bryan Harsin stepped into the radio booth during the Tigers’ baseball game on Saturday to offer his thoughts on a host of topics surrounding college football.
For starters, Harsin said he expects full capacity at Jordan-Hare Stadium this fall, and the goal is to have the Tiger Walk and other gameday festivities.
“If we continue down a good path โฆ then weโre going to have that opportunity,” Harsin said, per Jordan D. Hill of the Opelika-Auburn News.
The Tigers in recent weeks and months have seen both sides of the transfer portal, and it’s become one of the most talked issues facing college football going forward. Harsin addressed how his program would deal with it.
“Youโve got a chance to talk to a few guys, get to know them โฆ Guys are making that move,” he said. “They’re making it for a reason, and youโre also bringing in guys to help your football team.โ
This summer, as the players and coaches prepare for the second half of the offseason, Harsin understands the value of having a strong transition for the program.
“Itโs definitely important for us as a new staff, thereโs no doubt about it โฆ Not having to see players and be around them for so long, this June is going to be great for everybody โฆ Itโs going to be very competitive,” he said.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
