There’s plenty of hype around Alabama’s Bryce Young, as he makes his debut as the starting quarterback on Saturday against Miami in Atlanta. His appearance will also come with a lot of pressure, according to a well-known college football insider.

Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports and The Athletic shared on The Dan Patrick Show that Young rises above all other QBs this season in terms of pressure.

“Because the expectation is so high,” Feldman said. “For me, when you’re talking about Alabama, what’s different this year is (Steve Sarkisian) was great with quarterbacks. I did a story a couple weeks ago on the evolution of the Alabama offense and there’s been so many different hands in it, and so many different coaches who’ve come and gone there and made their little adaptation.”

Feldman explained that Sarkisian has big shoes to fill for Bill O’Brien, because Sarkisian was as good at coaching the quarterbacks as anyone who’s come through Tuscaloosa.

“I think what’s unique there, it’s not just we’ve got to replace Sark, got to replace Mac Jones, you have to replace 5 first-round picks on that offense. So John Metchie’s a really good receiver, but the receiving room at Alabama had been off the charts the last couple years, really in the last decade. I still think there’s talent. But people are going to expect Bryce Young to go in there and tear it up, and he might. He’s a really highly-regarded kid out of Southern California, but the bar is incredibly high there at Alabama just because no matter’s who’s been there, it’s kept getting better, and it’s going to hard to be better than what they were last year, even as good I think.”
