Tennessee coach Butch Jones reflected on his team’s first SEC victory of the 2014 season during his weekly television program, The Butch Jones Show. Jones led the Vols to a 45-42 overtime win over South Carolina Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Tennessee faced a 14-point deficit with 4:52 remaining in regulation. The Vols responded by scoring 17 unanswered points, including a game-winning field goal by Aaron Medley in overtime.
“It was a tremendous comeback,” Jones told co-host Bob Kesling, the voice of the Tennessee Volunteers. “When you look at some of the story lines, we made critical plays in impactful moments…The drive that will live forever, 1:12, 85 yards to go, no timeouts and we went nine plays with no timeouts. I thought our coaches, our players really did a great job executing that drill flawlessly.”
