C-SPAN viewer calls into inauguration coverage, complains of Alabama being left out of CFP
C-SPAN doesn’t seem like the usual platform for the run-of-the-mill angry Alabama football caller who’s still sore about the Crimson Tide being left out of the College Football Playoff.
But here we are, and there was the caller on Monday, phoning into the presidential inauguration coverage to speak his mind about what really matters in America — that Kalen DeBoer’s first Alabama team should’ve been included in the 12-team Playoff despite those 3 regular-season losses.
After the caller aired his political grievances about who was inaugurated on Monday and who could have been had the election gone differently, it was time to get to what was really at the forefront of his mind, and it had absolutely nothing to do with politics. The caller specifically noted the inclusion of SMU and Indiana, which were blown out by Penn State and Notre Dame, respectively, in the first round of the Playoff.
“Truly dark times in America,” said the caller with not a hint of sarcasm before the C-SPAN host quickly cut off the caller before anything else was said.
Now, to be honest, the caller was from Jersey City, N.J., not exactly a hotbed of Alabama football fans, so perhaps the caller was doing a really good acting job by pretending to still care that the Crimson Tide were left out of the Playoff.
