Caitlin Clark’s surprising ‘College GameDay’ pick draws boos from Iowa fans

Caitlin Clark getting booed at Iowa is an unheard-of prospect, considering all she did on the Carver-Hawkeye Arena court during her time in Iowa City. The Hawkeye legend, though, learned on Saturday’s “College GameDay” that not even she is immune to the boo-birds.
Clark, the natural choice for guest picker in the show’s first visit to the Iowa campus in 20 years, set out to go perfect in her Saturday Selections. Or, at the very least, beating Glen Powell’s mark of 7-2 earlier in the season before Texas-Ohio State. That included her pick for a noon ET kickoff between West Virginia and the Hawkeyes’ in-state rival, Iowa State.
The expectation was that Clark would pick against the Cyclones. Not quite, as you can see below:
“I said I wanted to get 100% accuracy,” Clark told the Iowa crowd. “You can boo me. I’ll make you happy at the end.”
Clark was true to her word moments later as she picked Iowa to beat Ohio State. It’s happened before: the Hawkeyes cruised to a 55-24 win in 2017, the last time these two teams met at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa beat Ohio State 33-7 at home in 2004 as well.
Outside of that, it’s been all Buckeyes, who have won 14 of the last 16 meetings between the two programs. That doesn’t count the 20-17 win in 2010 that was later vacated.
