For the first time all season, Cam Coleman has found the end zone. And just like that, Auburn is up 7-0 over South Alabama in Week 3.
Coleman had hauled in 8 receptions for 100 yards prior to this game, but he had yet to find the end zone. His first score of the year was classic Cam Coleman – he turned on the jets to beat a Jaguars defender and backed into the end zone while catching the pass from Jackson Arnold, good for a 32-yard score.
Check it out below:
The Tigers have revamped their receiver room and added former Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold, who desperately needed a change of scenery after a down first year with the Sooners. He’s been off to a good start to far, though the Tigers’ passing attack is still under a bit of a microscope in Week 3. Well, he’s off to a strong start so far – Arnold and the Tigers sit at 55 passing yards with the above scoring play.
Coleman is primed for a monster year if Arnold can take that step as a passer. He was one of just 2 Auburn receivers to surpass 500 yards receiving last year, and he tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns alongside Keandre Lambert-Smith.
Auburn leads South Alabama 7-3 with just under 3 minutes left in the first quarter.
