Camar Wheaton, a former 5-star recruit who recently was away from the Alabama team, has made a decision on his future.

A report last week suggested that he was not expected to return to the team, but the seventh-highest rated recruit of Alabamaโ€™s class of 27 players in 2021 has entered the transfer portal, according to reports from Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports and Matt Fortuna of The Athletic.

Wheaton dealt with a knee injury, and in November, coach Nick Saban said at the time that he still has a ways to go, and wasnโ€™t on the field then.

Wheaton ranked as the No. 34 overall player in the 2021 class out of Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, Texas, and chose Alabama over Oklahoma. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Wheaton, who was the No. 3 running back in the country in the 2021 class, ran for 3,731 yards and 48 touchdowns in his highs school career.
