Former Georgia and Miami quarterback Carson Beck will start for the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday.
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur announced that news on Tuesday afternoon. Beck will get the start in the NFL’s high-profile preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

While Beck will get the start on Thursday night, he’s not necessarily expected to play a big role for the Cardinals in 2026. Jacoby Brissett will likely be Arizona’s starter in Week 1 of the regular season while Beck battles with veteran backup Gardner Minshew for the No. 2 job.
Beck is entering his rookie NFL season after leading Miami to the CFP National Championship Game this past season. The Cardinals selected him in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft following his strong season with the Hurricanes.
Beck led the ACC in completion percentage and passer efficiency rating in 2025. He threw for 30 touchdowns against 12 interceptions while averaging 8.2 yards per attempt — his best park since his 2023 campaign at Georgia.
The Hall of Fame Game will kick off at 8 p.m. on Thursday night in Canton, Ohio.
