CBS Sports analyst calls out lack of respect for Kentucky entering Week 6

The Kentucky Wildcats narrowly avoided disaster on the road this past weekend, overcoming a 17-point halftime deficit against the South Carolina Gamecocks to secure a massive overtime win.
This gutsy comeback against LaNorris Sellers and the Gamecocks moved Kentucky to 4-1 in the Will Stein era. This apparently wasn’t impressive enough for AP Poll voters, though, as they dropped the previously No. 24-ranked Wildcats out of the Top 25 entirely.
CBS Sports analyst Brad Crawford touched on Kentucky’s unceremonious exclusion from the Week 6 AP Poll on Monday morning, and called out the pollster for their lack of respect for Stein’s team.
“How about Kentucky falling out of the poll completely, despite erasing a 17-point deficit on the road as a betting underdog at South Carolina,” Crawford said. “I know the Gamecocks are bad, but for Will Stein to roll the dice in overtime, go for a 2-point conversion and get it on the road for the win, that’s impressive, man. Kentucky is one of the most improved teams in the country, and yet the Wildcats really aren’t getting that respect.”
There’s no question that Stein has completely turned this Kentucky program around in the short time he’s been in charge in Lexington, and their possession comeback in Week 5 is further proof of that.
The Cats may not be getting the respect they deserve yet, as Crawford points out, but if they can keep stacking up wins under Stein, they’ll be impossible to ignore for much longer.
