CBS Sports analyst Brad Crawford digested a wild and crazy Week 1 that’s still going and listed his top 10 teams based on his own eye test on Monday morning.
Crawford’s rankings were using his eye test only, but he also made sure to add that the quality of opponent that each team played in Week 1 was factored in.
And when the eye test was all done, Crawford determined that Miami should be No. 1 in his own personal poll. The Hurricanes went out west and pounded Stanford on Friday night to kick-start a season of high expectations after losing in the national title game last season.
But Crawford also thought LSU was mighty impressive on Saturday night against Clemson, and Lane Kiffin‘s team landed at No. 2 on Crawford’s list after its incredible debut in primetime. Following LSU was another SEC team in Georgia, which came in at No. 3 for Crawford after its blowout of Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon.
The next 2 teams on Crawford’s list were interesting for the sole reason that they’ll be hooking up in Austin on Saturday night in what could be one of the games of the year. That would be Ohio State and Texas, which Crawford put at No. 4 and 5, respectively, in his eye test poll.
The Buckeyes smashed Ball State while Texas did the same to Texas State on Saturday to set the stage for this Saturday night’s primetime showdown (7:30 p.m. ET) on ABC.
