Georgia and Auburn are both desperate for a win in this weekend’s edition of ‘The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry’, but for different reasons.

With a loss to Alabama already on their résumé again this year, the Bulldogs’ margin for error has immensely shrunk as they gear up for a brutal SEC schedule that is capped by a clash with currently undefeated Georgia Tech.

But if Georgia‘s margin for error has shrunk, Auburn‘s is virtually non-existent. Hugh Freeze & Co built towards a breakthrough season on the plains, but a pair of hard-fought SEC road losses to Oklahoma and Texas A&M have dampened the program’s mood.

Still, an upset win over the rival Bulldogs would reignite the fire in Jordan-Hare Stadium, and CBS Sports’ analyst Brian Jones believes that the Tigers are going to pull it off.

“Auburn was 0-for-13 on 3rd down at Texas A&M and allowed 9 sacks vs. OU the week prior to that…More of the same against Georgia?” Jones, a former Texas and UCLA linebacker, said. “NO! War Eagle baby.”

Despite ESPN’s FPI and the betting public favoring Georgia, Jones believes that Freeze’s team is primed to flip the script coming off a bye week.

The Tigers and Bulldogs will kick off at 7:30 EST, with the game being broadcast by ABC.
