CBS Sports analyst predicts Georgia’s first loss of 2026

The 2026 college football regular season has officially passed its midway point, and only 9 programs have made it this far with their perfect record still intact.

The No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are among the remaining unbeatens, but the second half of their schedule will likely make keeping that 0 at the end of their record difficult.

There are several games on the horizon for the Dawgs that could represent a potential loss, but CBS Sports analyst Brad Crawford has predicted that UGA’s November 7th trip to Ole Miss will be their first L of the campaign.

If one team has proven it has what it takes to knock off Kirby Smart and the Dawgs, it’s Trinidad Chambliss and the Rebels. Georgia narrowly scraped by with a regular-season win over the Rebs last year, and Ole Miss ended their season in round 2 during the Sugar Bowl.

This year’s Ole Miss squad doesn’t appear to be quite as good as the one that made a run to the CFP semi-finals last season, but they are still more than good enough to knock off any team in the country on any given Saturday.

Add in the fact that this game will be played in Oxford, a place Smart has never won as a head coach, and Crawford’s selection of Ole Miss to hand Georgia their first loss seems like the most logical choice.
