The SEC had four ranked-on-ranked matchups in Week 4 of the 2026 college football season. This gave many coaches an opportunity to build their College Football Playoff resumes with statement wins. While a bunch capitalized on that chance, one man did so to a higher degree than the rest.
Monday morning, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz named his conference coaches of the week. Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall got the nod for the SEC after overseeing his team’s 52-28 triumph vs. the previously undefeated Ole Miss Rebels.
Running back Jadan Baugh posted 154 total yards and three touchdowns for the Gators against the Rebels. Baugh carried the offensive load, but Aaron Philo played excellent football in a supporting role, throwing for 196 yards and a touchdown. Their efforts allowed Florida to dominate time of possession (36:59-23:01) and keep its defense fresh. As a result, that unit forced three punts and two turnovers out of Trinidad Chambliss’ offense.
The Gators (4-0, 2-0 SEC) are up to No. 8 in the AP poll following their exciting start to the season. Now, they head to Columbia for a matchup with the No. 25 Missouri Tigers. Kickoff between Florida and Missouri is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
