Week 5 of the 2026 college football season is officially in the books, and it featured several massive wins and standout coaching performances from some of the top teams across the sport.
The Missouri Tigers, in particular, had arguably the best weekend out of anyone, picking up one of the best wins of the year with their shocking 45-17 upset beatdown of the previously No. 8-ranked Florida Gators.
Mizzou shut down the Gators in every facet of the game, and this performance led CBS Sports to name Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz Coach of the Week in the SEC for Week 5.
Drinkwitz took over the Mizzou football program in 2020, and he has quietly built it into one of the most consistent squads in the country over his 7 years as head coach.
He always seems to have his guys ready to play, no matter the opponent, and his ability to pull off shocking upset wins like this has been second to none since he took the reins in Columbia.
This most recent win against the Gators ranks among the best of his tenure, and he is completely deserving of CBS Sports’ SEC Coach of the Week honor.
