CFB head coach leaves for Texas high school job

A Division II head coach has decided to leave for a job in the high school ranks.

Veterans High School in Brownsville, Texas has announced the hire of former Eastern New Mexico head coach Kelley Lee, per FootballScoop. Veterans went 2-5 in 2020.

Lee had been Eastern New Mexico’s head coach since 2017. The program achieved a .636 winning percentage during Lee’s tenure. Eastern New Mexico claimed its first postseason victory at the Division II level with a win over Southern Arkansas in the 2019 Heritage Bowl.

Lee has prior experience coaching at the high school. Prior to his time at Eastern New Mexico, he inherited a 1-9 Valencia program and went 26-9 with three playoff appearances.
