Prediction season is shifting into high gear as we rapidly approach the start of the 2026 college football season, and analysts across the sport are getting in their final preseason College Football Playoff predictions.

The first 2 years of the expanded 12-team CFP format have yielded some of the best matchups and most surprising outcomes fans have seen from the tournament since its inception back in 2014, and many are predicting more of the same in 2026.

On3 insider Chris Low doesnโ€™t see anything too crazy happening come playoff time, though, with his CFP prediction featuring virtually no upsets.

Low is predicting a very generic National Championship matchup, with the No. 3-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes matching up with the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs, and the Buckeyes coming out on top to claim their second national title in 3 years.

Outside of this, Low also has just about every higher-seeded squad coming out on top throughout the tournament, with the only “upset” coming in the first round with No. 9 Ole Miss knocking off No. 8 BYU.

There may not be many surprising upsets in Low’s preseason CFP prediction, but these preseason predictions rarely pan out come playoff time. As such, it will be interesting to see just how Low and everybody else’s CFP takes end up panning out come season’s end.
