An Austin Peay defensive lineman was arrested following a scary incident involving a teammate.
The player is Nigel Brannon, a transfer from Memphis. Brannon has been suspended from the Austin Peay squad following his arrest.
Per the Leaf Chronicle, Brannon is being charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping for holding a teammate against his will at his apartment complex. Below are some of the scary details:
The affidavit said Brannon pulled a knife on the teammate and threatened him while standing in front of the door to the apartment. When the teammate tried to leave, a struggle ensued, and the teammate was cut on the neck and wrist. The teammate required stitches.
Per the report, the dispute started when Brannon couldn’t find the key to his room. He reportedly told police he believed his teammate had the key.
Brannon has been released on bail. His court hearing is Friday.
