Christian Kirk has some fond memories playing at Kyle Field.
Kirk, now an NFL veteran, was a standout wide receiver for Texas A&M from 2015-17. He was the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2015 and a 2-time first-team All-SEC selection in 2016 and ’17 before declaring for the NFL Draft.
The Houston Texans, who acquired Kirk via trade in March, recently asked the wide receiver to name his top 5 college stadiums for atmosphere.
It’s no surprise that Kirk has Texas A&M’s Kyle Field atop his list. He also made some interesting choices. Kirk filled 2 spots with former SEC foes and 2 spots with Big Ten teams.
From the SEC, LSU and Alabama made Kirk’s list. He found the end zone at each stadium.
Kirk and the Aggies played at LSU in 2015 and ’17. He had 3 catches for 54 yards the first time in Tiger Stadium. As a junior, Kirk posted 7 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
The Aggies only traveled to Alabama once during Kirk’s career. In a 33-14 A&M loss during the 2016 season, Kirk has a solid outing of 9 catches for 58 yards and a TD.
Even though he did not play college games in their stadiums, Kirk included Michigan and Penn State on his list.
