Christopher Rodriguez is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Lexington area.

Rodriguez was stopped by the University of Kentucky police on Sunday on Nicholasville Road for careless driving, no tail lamps and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to an arrest report.

Rodriguez in January announced plans to return to Kentucky.

Last season, Rodriguez rushed for more than 100 yards in 9 games and finished the season with the schoolโ€™s fifth-highest single-season rushing yardage. He had 1,379 and 9 touchdowns this season, which was second in the SEC behind Missouriโ€™s Tyler Badie.

Rodriguez has 26 career rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the second-most in program history.

Rodriguez is a key piece of a strong roster at Kentucky entering the 2022, highlighted by QB Will Levis.

In Rodriguez’ return announcement, he said that his goals at college were to re-write the record books, and be the first in his family to graduate from college.

โ€œIโ€™m so close to accomplishing both of those goals, and because of that, I would like to announce that I will be coming back for another year!,โ€ Rodriguez said. โ€œI know coming back will make me better, not only for myself but also for my team and the people around me.โ€
