Christopher Rodriguez is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Lexington area.
Rodriguez was stopped by the University of Kentucky police on Sunday on Nicholasville Road for careless driving, no tail lamps and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to an arrest report.
Rodriguez in January announced plans to return to Kentucky.
Last season, Rodriguez rushed for more than 100 yards in 9 games and finished the season with the school’s fifth-highest single-season rushing yardage. He had 1,379 and 9 touchdowns this season, which was second in the SEC behind Missouri’s Tyler Badie.
Rodriguez has 26 career rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the second-most in program history.
Rodriguez is a key piece of a strong roster at Kentucky entering the 2022, highlighted by QB Will Levis.
In Rodriguez’ return announcement, he said that his goals at college were to re-write the record books, and be the first in his family to graduate from college.
“I’m so close to accomplishing both of those goals, and because of that, I would like to announce that I will be coming back for another year!,” Rodriguez said. “I know coming back will make me better, not only for myself but also for my team and the people around me.”
