Kentucky Wildcats running back CJ Baxter had dominated through the first half of his Lexington debut campaign. The former Texas Longhorn has already set a career-high in rushing touchdowns (8), the latest of which set the stage for Kentucky‘s game-winning two-point conversion vs. the LSU Tigers.

When Baxter is envisioning a touchdown run before action gets underway, he has one particular artist in his ears. On The Paul Finebaum Show, Baxter revealed he tunes in to Adele as the Wildcats are nearing kickoff.

“I like to be very calm before a game,” Baxter said. “I listen to Adele right before we hit the field… it gets me in the zone. Hope I can meet her one day.”

Baxter has often found himself rolling deep into opposing defenses. He sparked the Wildcats with a 77-yard run on their first offensive snap against LSU, then scored on a 3-yard plunge to put their first points on the scoreboard.

Saturday’s game was both Baxter’s third 100-yard performance and third two-touchdown game of the year. He’s on pace for 968 rushing yards this season, but would love to crack the 1,000-yard mark. A strong showing against the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 7 could help him accomplish that goal.
