We have a new No. 1 in the Coaches Poll.

The Georgia Bulldogs have snagged the top spot after downing Alabama in front of a raucous crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Thanks to another elite defensive performance and a cool-steady outing from Bulldogs QB Gunner Stockton, Kirby Smart‘s squad is once again the team to beat in college football.

Alabama fell a few spots to No. 7 for their close-fought battle against the new No. 1 Bulldogs. Texas is just ahead of Alabama at No. 6 after a much worse loss to unranked rival Oklahoma, which hit a walk-off field goal to snap a 2-game Longhorns win streak. Finally, Ole Miss barely cracks the top 10 at No. 10 after demolishing Vanderbilt,

In total, 9 SEC teams are ranked this week. Other ranked teams from the SEC include the following: Mizzou (No. 13), Tennessee (No. 14), Kentucky (No. 17), Mississippi State (No. 19) and LSU (No. 21). Florida and Oklahoma also received votes, coming in just outside the top 25.
